Martco Ltd. Partnership has placed two orders with Pro-Environmental, Inc. for air abatement systems to handle the dryer and press emissions at two OSB mills—an existing plant in Lemoyen, La. and a greenfield startup at Oakdale, La. At the mill in Oakdale, PEI will supply three 180,000 acfm 6-canister RTOs and three Turbosonic Wet-ESPs to control emissions from three single pass OSB dryers. The press emissions will be controlled with one 120,000 acfm 4-canister TCO and employs catalyst provided by Prototech. Equipment startup is scheduled mid-year 2006. At Martco’s Lemoyen mill, PEI will supply one 240,000 acfm 8-canister RTO to control emissions from four existing triple pass dryers and will operate downstream from the existing Wet-ESPs. Upgrade
modifications to the existing Wet-ESPs will be provided by Turbosonic to enhance the performance and ensure trouble-free operation of the RTO system. The existing press emissions will be controlled with one 100,000 acfm 4-canister TCO and also employs a catalyst provided by Prototech. Equipment startup is scheduled mid-year 2007. The PEI RTOs and TCOs for Oakdale and Lemoyen will be designed for 98% removal of VOCs/HAPs and 95% thermal energy recovery. The new Turbosonic Wet-ESPs for Oakdale will be designed to reduce the total PM loading from the dryers down to 0.005 gr/dscf. The existing Wet-ESPs at Lemoyen will also be upgraded by Turbosonic to reduce the total PM loading down to 0.005 gr/dscf and enhance the exiting mist elimination system.
